What we do
Historical Restoration
Landmark and period property restoration across Back Bay, the South End and Beacon Hill, using the correct materials and techniques to protect the building for the long term.
Waldron Contracting Services has extensive experience in historical restoration, with particular knowledge of restoring landmark properties in the Boston area. We understand how much rests on using the correct materials and the correct techniques, because a period building will punish you for getting either wrong.
Our philosophy when restoring an older building is holistic. The roof, the masonry, the windows and the drainage are one system, and they fail as one system. Our knowledge of how those historical building systems interact with one another is what protects your restoration from future damage.
Careful planning and attention to detail means the repairs, reconstruction and maintenance we carry out are done with a long-term solution in mind, not a short-term patch. On a landmark building, that is the entire job.

What we do
Structural Division
The parts of the building that carry the load — beams, roofs, load-bearing walls and slate — surveyed, repaired and rebuilt.
The structural division handles everything that holds the building up. Beams, roof structures, load-bearing walls and slate work are where a mistake is expensive and, in an older Boston property, often invisible until it is not.
We survey before we cut. Opening up a load-bearing wall or replacing a rotten beam in a hundred-year-old building means understanding where the load actually goes, not where the drawings say it goes. That work is planned, propped and signed off properly.
Slate is its own discipline. A slate roof that has been patched with the wrong material fails faster than one left alone, so we match the slate, the fixings and the flashing to what is already on the building.

What we do
Masonry
Brick and stone masons working across Boston on repointing, brownstone restoration and rebuilt stairs, stoops and lintels.
Waldron’s masonry division specializes in the repair, restoration and rebuilding of brick, stone and brownstone across Boston.
From repointing and façade restoration to stoops, stairs, lintels and chimneys, our work is built around using the right materials and methods for the building in front of us. That matters especially in Boston’s older and historic properties, where incompatible mortar, poor drainage or the wrong repair material can create bigger problems over time.
We take the time to understand how the masonry was originally built, how it has weathered and what is causing it to fail. The result is restoration work that respects the character of the property while addressing the underlying issue properly.

What we do
Exterior Division
Everything on the outside of the building — decks and roof decks, siding, windows and gutters — built to survive a Boston winter.
Waldron handles exterior construction, repair and replacement across the full building envelope — including siding, windows, decks, roof decks, gutters, trim, flashing, waterproofing and all roofing systems.
Our work ranges from individual repairs and replacements to larger exterior renovation projects where multiple systems need to work together. We focus on proper installation, drainage and weatherproofing so the exterior performs as it should and protects the structure behind it.

What we do
Roofing
Flat and pitched roof systems — slate, asphalt, EPDM, PVC, GacoFlex and membrane — assessed as a whole and built to last a New England winter.
Our roofing work covers flat and pitched roof systems, including slate, asphalt, EPDM, PVC, GacoFlex and other membrane roofing systems. We also address the flashing, drainage, gutters and roof penetrations that are often the source of leaks and premature failure.
We assess the roof as a complete system — identifying the cause of water intrusion and recommending the right repair or replacement, rather than simply patching the visible problem. From targeted repairs to full roof replacements, our focus is on proper installation, dependable waterproofing and long-term performance in New England conditions.

What we do
Interior Division
High-end interior work — kitchens, bathrooms, built-ins, floors, doors and trim — finished to the standard the rest of the building deserves.
Waldron is not just an exterior contractor. We have a full interior division delivering high-quality renovation and finish work for residential and commercial properties across Boston.
From kitchens, bathrooms and full interior remodels to custom built-ins, flooring, doors, trim and finish carpentry, our team can manage the project from the structure behind the walls through to the final details.
Because our structural and interior teams work together, we can take on more complex renovations without the disconnect between trades — giving clients one coordinated team from framing to finish.

Common questions
If your question is not here, call us and ask.
What areas do you cover?
Boston is at the heart of our work, with projects throughout neighborhoods including the South End, Back Bay, Beacon Hill, South Boston and beyond. We also work extensively across Greater Boston and the South Shore, and will consider projects further afield depending on scope and requirements.
Can you work on a landmark or historic property?
Absolutely. Historic properties are a core part of our work across the South End, Back Bay and Beacon Hill. Our experience includes façade restoration, historic windows and doors, masonry, cornices, copper work, gutters, stoops and architectural detailing. We're familiar with the requirements of Boston's historic commissions, including the SELDC, BBAC and BHAC, and stay current with their standards and guidelines while preserving the character and integrity of each building.
What is complete building envelope repair?
Your building envelope includes the roof, exterior walls, windows, doors and drainage systems that protect the interior from the elements. We look at these components as one connected system — identifying where water is entering, why it is happening and what needs to be addressed for a lasting repair. It's a core part of our expertise, particularly in Boston's older and historic buildings.
How do I get a quote?
Click Request a Quote and tell us a little about your property and the work you're considering. Our team will review the details, follow up with any questions and arrange a site visit where needed before providing a clear, written scope and estimate.
Not sure which division you need?
Most of our projects cross more than one of them, and that is the point. Describe the problem and we will work out what it actually takes to fix it.
